CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -
Donavan Monroe scored 15 points to lead
College of Charleston to a 69-58 win over Furman on Saturday.
Tony White Jr. added 12 points, shooting 3-for-3 from beyond the
arc for the Cougars (23-7, 15-5 Southern Conference). Jermaine
Johnson scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
After holding a 32-24 lead at halftime, Charleston went on a
15-4 run in the second half to take a 57-38 lead with 8:15
remaining. Furman was able to cut the lead down to eight after a
3-pointer from Jordan Miller, making the score 66-58 with 28
seconds left. But the Paladins (6-22, 4-15) failed to score again,
as Monroe shot 3-for-4 from the free throw line to secure the win.
Miller led Furman with 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Cougars ended their regular season on a five-game winning
streak, while Furman is currently on a four-game losing streak.
