Clemson Women Pull Stunner

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Shaniqua Pauldo scored 23 points and
Clemson pulled away in the second half to upset Georgia Tech 81-69
on Thursday in the opening round of the Atlantic Coast Conference
tournament.
Tasha Taylor added 12 points for the 12th-seeded Tigers (14-16),
who advance to face No. 11 North Carolina (25-5), the tournament's
fourth seed, in the quarterfinals game Friday morning. April
Parker, Sthefany Thomas and LeLe Hardy each had 10 for Clemson.
Alex Montgomery scored 17 points, Jacqua Williams had 15, Iasia
Hemingway 13 and Brigitte Ardossi 10 for the fifth-seeded Yellow
Jackets (21-9), who shot 32.8 percent from the field and were
outrebounded 50-38 in losing to Clemson for the first time in eight
games.
Georgia Tech took a 40-37 lead in the opening minute of the
second half on Montgomery's 3-pointer, but Clemson responded with a
17-4 run to take command.
