COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -
Southside had five players finish in
double figures to win its third straight Class 2A boys title in a
72-47 victory over Mullins on Saturday.
Southside (30-2) led just 24-22 at halftime, but outscored
Mullins 20-9 in the third quarter and the 25-point final margin was
Southside's biggest lead of the game.
Southside turned the second half into a highlight reel of dunks.
Robbie Dreher may have had the best one, stealing the ball at
midcourt, then throwing a pass to himself off the backboard and
dunking with his right hand.
Marlin Butler led Southside with 14 points and Mario Irby added
12. The Tigers are the first team to win three 2A titles in a row.
Mullins (24-4) was led by Stacy Wilson's 18 points.
