GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Chris Anderson and Michael Clark II each
shot course-record 9-under-par to share the first round lead at the
BMW Charity Pro-Am event on the Nationwide Tour.
Anderson's 63 set a course record at Carolina Country Club,
while Clark's 62 is the new course record at Thornblade Club.
The near-perfect conditions led to plenty of low scores. Fabian
Gomez and Dustin Bray came in at 8-under, while four others are at
7-under. Thirty players shot 5-under or better, and 132 of the 168
players shot par or better. Twenty-one players managed an entire
round without a bogey.
The tournament features professionals paired with a celebrity
partner in a three-day best-ball competition on three different
courses. The 14 teams with the lowest scores advance to Sunday's
final round.
