COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says
starting defensive end Cliff Matthews could miss up to three weeks
with a shoulder injury.
Matthews dislocated his left shoulder in the first quarter of
South Carolina's 31-13 loss at Tennessee last week. Spurrier had
said earlier that Matthews would not play this week at Arkansas.
Matthews, a junior who started all nine games this season, is
tied for fourth on the team with 39 tackles, which leads all
defensive linemen.
He'll be replaced in the starting lineup by freshman Devin
Taylor.
