Spurrier Clarifies Two Points

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says
he'll take more control of his team's playcalling and won't let any
frustrating finishes deter him from returning to the Gamecocks next
season.
Spurrier said Tuesday he'll be more active in scheming plays for
his team and return to the sideline huddle during timeouts and
stoppages to give instructions instead of hanging back while others
on his offensive staff did the talking.
Spurrier also says he's liked the direction of his young program
and would not let the spectre of another late fall get in the way
of his return in 2010.
South Carolina (6-4, 3-4 SEC) has lost three of its past four
Southeastern Conference games heading into its game against No. 1
Florida (9-0).
