GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -
Jordan Sorrells passed for 272 yards and
a career-high five touchdowns and Furman defeated Wofford 58-21 on
Saturday in the season finale for both teams.
Sorrells was 25-for-36 and threw scoring passes of 3, 13, 6, 6
and 29 for the Paladins (6-5, 5-3 Southern Conference). The five
TDs were the most by a Furman quarterback since 1991.
The Paladins jumped out to a 44-0 lead before the Terriers (3-8,
2-6) scored three straight touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The
final margin was the largest in the series since 1995 and gave
Furman its 11th straight winning season.
The Paladins had a 469-286 advantage in total offense.
Adam Mims caught seven passes for 99 yards to become Furman's
all-time receptions leader with 143.
Jerry Williams had a career-high 98 yards on 14 carries for
Furman.
Mitch Allen had 92 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries for
Wofford.

Patrick Hall rushed for 114 yards and two
touchdowns to lead Gardner-Webb to a 21-14 victory over
Presbyterian in both teams' season finale on Saturday.
Hall scored on a 2-yard run with 3:28 left in the first quarter
to give Gardner-Webb (6-5, 3-3 Big South) a 7-0 lead, and darted 49
yards with 1:16 left in the game for a 21-7 lead.
Presbyterian (0-11, 0-6 Big South) scored twice in the fourth
quarter, including a 13-yard pass from Brandon Miley to Patrick
McKoy with 50 seconds left, but couldn't recover the onside kick.
Gardner-Webb dominated the first half, piling up 303 total
yards, but needed a 4-yard pass from Stan Doolittle to Jamal Patmon
with 30 seconds left to take a 14-0 lead into halftime.
Doolittle was 25 of 36 for 273 yards, completing nine passes to
James Perry, who finished with 133 yards.
Miley was 19-for-34 for 247 yards.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -
Malcolm Long passed for two touchdowns
and ran for another as South Carolina State beat North Carolina A&T
28-10 on Saturday.
Long was 18-for-31 for 222 yards passing, with three
interceptions. Malcolm threw touchdown passes of 12 and 49 yards to
TreOliver Young, who had six catches for 123 yards.
The Bulldogs (10-1, 8-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) close
out the regular season on a seven-game winning streak. The Bulldogs
outscored the Aggies 21-3 in the second half. Malcolm closed out
the scoring with a 1-yard run.
The Aggies (4-6, 2-5) finish the season on a three-game losing
streak. The Bulldogs held an advantage of 458-166 in total yards.
Tony Coles scored the Bulldogs' only touchdown on a 1-yard run
for a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
