SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -
Kevin Giltner scored 14 points to lead
Wofford in a 77-59 win over UNC-Greensboro on Saturday night.
Junior Salters added 13 points for the Terriers (17-8, 9-3
Southern Conference), who have won four games in a row. Tim
Johnson, Noah Dahlman and Jamar Diggs each scored 10 points.
Wofford used an 11-0 run to jump out to a 14-4 lead in the first
half, and would go on to lead 39-29 at halftime. The Terriers led
by double digits for the entire second half, and built their
biggest lead at 19 points after a 3-pointer from Giltner made the
score 62-43 with 10:14 remaining.
Ben Stywall finished with 18 points and eight rebounds to lead
the Spartans (5-18, 4-8). Kyle Randall added 10 points.
The Terriers shot 57.7 percent from the field (30-for-52), while
UNC-Greensboro shot 34.5 percent (19-for-55).

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -
TJ Douglas scored 21 points and grabbed
13 rebounds, and Elon defeated Furman 66-55 on Saturday night.
Drew Spradlin added 14 points and Chris Long had 11 for the
Phoenix (5-17, 3-8 Southern Conference), who snapped a two-game
losing streak. The team had lost 11 of its previous 12 games.
The win avenged a 53-48 loss to Furman on Jan. 7.
Leading 56-50 with 2:51 to play, Elon went on a 7-0 run to put
the game out of reach. A free throw by Long capped the run and gave
the Phoenix their biggest lead of the game at 63-50 with 1:28
remaining.
Elon dominated close to the basket, outscoring Furman 22-10 in
the paint.
The Phoenix also shot well, making 41.2 percent (21 of 51) of
their shots from the field compared to 33.3 percent (19 of 57) for
the Paladins.
Amu Saaka led Furman (11-2, 5-7) with 22 points and 10 rebounds,
and Jordan Miller added 11.

Kennesaw, Ga. – In what has become the norm when Upstate and Kennesaw State meet on the hardwood, Saturday night’s A-Sun men’s basketball game was a thriller. In the end, Caleb Palkert came off the bench with a career-high 10 points in the second half to spark Upstate as the Spartans took a 68-64 victory over the Owls in the KSU Convocation Center.
Upstate’s win over Kennesaw State gave the Spartans the season sweep of the Owls, marking the first time since joining the A-Sun that Upstate has swept a league opponent. The Spartans took a 66-62 overtime victory on Jan. 17 in Spartanburg. Upstate improved to 4-18 overall and 4-9 in the A-Sun with the win. The Spartans travel to Macon, Ga., to take on Mercer Monday night at 7:30. Kennesaw State fell to 12-13 overall and 7-7 in the league, ending its six-game winning streak in the loss.
Palkert came up huge for Upstate in the second half. After playing the first half without scoring, the freshman from Excelsior, Minn., delivered throughout the second 20 minutes of play. He notched his first bucket to give Upstate a nine-point lead, 46-37, with 13:37 to play.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -
Antwan Burrus scored 18 points, including
two free throws with 28 seconds left, and Liberty held on to defeat
Presbyterian 60-57 on Saturday night.
Jesse Sanders' jumper with 4:13 remaining gave the Flames
(12-12, 7-5 Big South Conference) a 55-53 lead that they never
relinquished.
After Burrus' free throws widened the lead to four, 59-55, Jake
Troyli missed a 3-pointer for the Blue Hose (4-21, 2-11). A
turnover gave them the ball back and Walt Allen's layup made it
59-57, but he failed to convert his free throw.
Presbyterian got the ball once more after Liberty's Carter
McMasters made one of two free throws, but Allen missed a 3-pointer
with two seconds left.
Troyli scored 20 points and Chase Holmes 15 for Presbyterian,
which outshot Liberty 53.3 percent (24-for-45) to 47.7 percent
(21-for-44), but was just 2-for-5 on free throws to Liberty's
12-for-15.
