Belton, SC-Belton-Honea Path High School has promoted assistant coach Russell Blackston to head football coach. He replaces Wayne Green, who left recently to take the top job at Seneca.
Blackston has been a B-HP assistant since '00, Green's first season at the school. It's Blackston's first head coaching job.
To fill the athletic director spot vacated by Green B-HP named baseball coach Steve Williams to also handle that role.
