The Easley Green Wave welcome 200-plus mile trips these days.
After compiling just one win in the past two seasons combined, the 9-3 Wave is more than happy to get on the bus Friday and depart for Goose Creek, near Charleston, a 200 mile trek one week after traveling 250 to go and upset Beaufort.
The Green Wave has a tough task in their second round AAAA Division II playoff game as the homestanding Gators, guided by former Clemson assistant Chuck Reedy, are unbeaten and have rolled over their opponents this season.
Greenwood tries improving to 12-1 on the season with a home game against South Florence on the other side of that playoff bracket while Hanna is the other area school still alive in AAAA Division II and the Yellow Jackets are on the road at North Augusta.
In Big 16, Gaffney and Byrnes must go to the midlands to get wins. The Indians play at Irmo, Byrnes is at Dutch Fork. Dorman, one of three area unbeatens, is home against Fort Dorchester.
Among the other contests, Abbeville and CCES and earn trips to state championship games in the two A playoff classifications with victories.
