Union Co. head coach David Lipsey hass resigned after five seasons at the school, according to school district superintendent Kristi Woodall.
Lipsey says he’s stepping down for personal reasons, effective immediately. The move comes just four days after athletic director Mike Massey also announced his resignation.
The Yellow Jackets were 4-7 this past season although had been a regular in the playoffs during Lipsey’s tenure. He was the consolidated high school’s first football coach.
Prior to taking the job, he guided the now closed Jonesville High for 19 seasons. He was an assistant on Jonesville’s 1990 Class A state championship team.
