Laura Thomas anchors 7 On Your Side Weekend Daybreak from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. During the week, you can find her reporting on news of the day in the Upstate. Laura joined WSPA in June 2011 from Myrtle Beach, SC.
While in the Grand Strand, she worked as the weekend evening anchor and reporter for WMBF News. In 2010, Laura was awarded the STAR Award by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association for Reporter of the Year.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude, with Honors from the University of Georgia and the Grady College of Journalism.
While in school, she served as a student judge for the George Foster Peabody Awards and studied abroad in Oxford, England.
She also traveled to China with the Redcoat Marching Band Flagline. Laura is originally from Clinton, Mississippi.
