Anchor / Reporter at WSPA-TV
Weekend mornings, you'll see Rich Klindworth anchoring 7 On Your Side Daybreak, but during the week you'll see him doing it all, so to speak... Rich is what you would call a "digital journalist", which means he is the reporter, the photographer, and the editor all wrapped into one.
Rich comes from the cornfields north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a place called Harmony. He has lived in the cold and snow and is now enjoying the warm climate and southern hospitality of the Upstate.
Rich went to Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. and started out in radio at WBUT/WLER in Butler, Pa. From there he moved into TV News as a reporter and fill-in anchor with KTEN on the Oklahoma/Texas line. An opportunity to be a weekend anchor took him back to Pennsylvania to WJAC-TV in Johnstown. After three years there, he happily finds himself in the south again as an anchor/reporter here at WSPA.
Rich likes to have fun and says he doesn't take himself too seriously; "I'm pretty easy going. In my free time, you'll probably find me in a gym or running. I am an avid sports fan and bleed black and gold. I am excited to be working for WSPA and hope you will enjoy the work I bring to you!"
Little known fact: Rich wanted to be seen on CBS even before working at WSPA he tried his hand at the hit television show Survivor. He was a semi-finalist twice (Australia and The Amazon)
